Rabbi Yaakov Frankiel

Rabbi Yaakov Frankiel, an alumnus of the Kollel, joined the administrative team in the summer of 2017. Born and raised in California, Rabbi Frankiel has lived in Colorado, Israel, and Columbus, Ohio, where he taught at the Columbus Torah Academy and acted as the NCSY Director. Rabbi Frankiel brings over a dozen years of community-building experience to the Kollel team. He studied in renowned Torah institutions such as the Mir Yeshiva, Karlin-Stolin, and the Jerusalem Kollel during his 10 years in Israel, during which he received his semicha. He is a member of Yeshiva University’s Experiential Education Cohort V and is currently completing his master’s degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. His wife, Shira (née Heching), Chicago-born and Israel-raised is a music therapist and is currently teaching preschool in Yeshivas Ohr Baruch. The Frankiels reside in West Rogers Park with their daughter Rochel Shulamit and son Shimon.
