Mrs. Tamar Shames

Mrs. Tamar Shames, a Chicago native, holds a BA in Psychology and Education from Barnard College and an M.Ed in Special Education from Bank Street College. As NILI Program Director, Tamar works with the NILI Community Scholar to organize and run various programs for women, teens, and kids.  She also gives shiurim throughout the year for the different communities NILI is a part of. Tamar is currently the Director of Professional Development for REACH, an organization supporting students and teachers in the Jewish Day School system. Tamar and her husband Gedalya, a Kollel alum, along with their children Shayna, Eli, and Odelya live in Skokie and are proud to be members of the Kollel family.
